Chevron accounts special glass beads, originally made for trade in the New World and the slave trade in Africa by glassmakers in Italy in the early 15th century. They are composed of many consecutive layers of colored glass. The initial core is formed in a star-shaped mold, and may be between five and fifteen points. The next layer of glass conforms to the shape of a star. Several layers of glass can be applied (typically four to seven layers), or star-shaped or smooth. After all layers have been applied, the glass is removed with the desired thickness and when cooled, cut into short segments showing the resulting star pattern at their ends. The ends can be ground to show the pattern of Chevron. Chevron Accounts are traditionally composed of red, blue and white layers, but modern gallons can be found in any combination of colors. Original accounts made for trade with the New World and Africa are typically composed of green, white, blue and red layers
Increasingly, dichroic glass beads used to produce high-end art. Dichroic glass has a thin layer of molten metal to the glass surface, resulting in a surface which has a metal that changes in brightness between two colors when viewed at different angles. Beads can be pressed, or made with traditional techniques of Lampworking. The metal coating used was originally developed by NASA for the space program.
Other accounts merchant account are considered made in Africa West, by and for Africans, such as accounts Kiffa, Mauritania, Ghana and Nigeria, and powdered glass beads. Other accounts include accounts of Tibetan Dzi and African-made brass accounts. Auditors Rudraksha are seeds that are common in India to do (Buddhist and Hindu rosaries bad). Magatama are traditional Japanese accounts, and cinnabar was often used for accounts in China.
